Creating garments that reflect your personality since 2012
Our workshop opened in Manchester in 2012, when Sarah Mitchell and her sister Emma decided to bring back the tradition of custom-fitted clothing. Starting with a small studio in the Northern Quarter, we worked with 15 clients in the first year. Today, our team of 8 tailors and seamstresses serves over 300 customers annually across Greater Manchester and beyond.
We specialize in made-to-measure garments for both men and women. Each piece begins with a consultation where we discuss fabric choices, design preferences, and intended use. Our process includes three fittings to ensure proper fit and comfort. We work with fabrics sourced from British mills in Yorkshire and imported materials from Italy.
We focus on creating clothing that fits properly and lasts. Every garment receives attention to construction details: reinforced seams, quality interfacing, and hand-finished buttonholes. Our alterations service extends the life of existing pieces, reducing waste and supporting sustainable practices.
Our workshop handles everything from wedding suits and bridesmaid dresses to everyday workwear and evening gowns. We've completed over 2,400 custom pieces, including formal wear for corporate events, theatrical costumes for local productions, and seasonal collections for independent boutiques.
The team includes specialists trained at the London College of Fashion and Manchester Fashion Institute. We invest in continuing education, with staff attending workshops on pattern-making techniques and fabric innovation. Our equipment includes industrial Juki sewing machines, a steam pressing station, and digital pattern-cutting software for precision.
Each garment undergoes multiple quality checks. We measure 18 body points for suits and 14 for dresses to ensure accurate fit. All pieces include a minimum of one fitting session.
Clients receive detailed timelines and cost breakdowns before work begins. Standard turnaround is 4-6 weeks for custom pieces, with rush services available for an additional fee.
We stock over 200 fabric options, from cotton and linen to wool and silk blends. Each material comes with care instructions and composition details. Swatches available upon request.
Each garment we create tells a story of precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. From bespoke suits tailored in our Manchester workshop to elegant evening wear designed for special occasions, our portfolio showcases the diversity and quality of our work across various categories.
We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to deliver garments that fit perfectly and last for years
Each garment begins with detailed measurements taken by our experienced tailors. We record over 20 body points to ensure the perfect fit, accounting for posture, shoulder slope, and individual proportions. This precision eliminates the common issues of off-the-rack clothing.
Choose from over 300 fabric options sourced from mills in Italy, England, and Scotland. Our collection includes wool blends ranging from 120s to 180s thread count, cotton weaves, linens, and performance fabrics. Each material is selected for durability and comfort in the British climate.
Critical elements like buttonholes, lapels, and hems are completed by hand using techniques passed down through generations. This traditional approach ensures stronger seams and a refined finish that machine stitching cannot replicate. Each garment receives 8-12 hours of hand work.
Standard orders are completed within 3-4 weeks from final fitting. Rush services are available for urgent requirements, with completion possible in 10-14 days. We maintain this schedule by limiting our monthly intake to 45 commissions, ensuring each piece receives proper attention.
Two fittings are included in every commission. The first occurs after pattern creation, the second when the garment is 80% complete. Minor alterations within the first month are provided at no charge. This process guarantees satisfaction before final delivery.
All garments carry a 24-month guarantee covering construction defects, seam integrity, and button attachment. We maintain your pattern on file for 5 years, making reorders simple and ensuring consistent fit across multiple pieces. Repairs are handled in our workshop.
Our team includes 6 tailors with an average of 18 years in the trade. Three hold City & Guilds qualifications in bespoke tailoring. This expertise allows us to handle complex alterations, period reproductions, and specialty garments including formal wear and traditional British styles.
